Montana Wolf Hunt To Begin
Montana’s 2011 wolf hunting licenses go on sale today. Ron Aasheim of Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks says those licenses will be valid within 14 specifically defined wolf management units. At the same time, he says, hunters must obtain permission to hunt on private lands. The total harvest quota is 220 wolves across 14 wolf management units, while two management units have sub-quotas. The hunt includes archery seasons and rifle seasons – and will end once the wolf quota is met. However, the seasons could be extended to December 31st if the quotas aren’t met earlier.
