FEMA Deadline Approaching

flood money

The deadline for eligible applicants to apply for assistance under the recent Federal Emergency Management Agency declaration is drawing near.  The recent FEMA declaration for 2011 severe storms, flooding and landslides provides for federal assistance to state agencies, local and tribal governments and private nonprofit entities which provide services of a governmental nature. The deadline to apply is Aug. 21st.  Guy Cameron, director, Wyoming Office of Homeland Security, says the majority of known applicants have submitted their applications but he wants to ensure all eligible entities have the opportunity to apply for assistance. State, county and municipal entities are being encouraged to apply for assistance for emergency work and the repair or replacement of damaged facilities.” Since the application deadline of Aug. 21st occurs on a Sunday, Cameron says applicants need to plan accordingly.
