Dog Sled Race Braves Bitter Cold

Dogs

Bitter cold temperatures have greeted racers along the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race through western Wyoming, but mushers are quick to tell you the dogs running in the race do best in the colder weather. In fact, the chief veterinarian for the race, Caroline Griffits says racers truly display top-notch care for their animals. Along the course of the racer, Griffits says she and other members of the veterinary team keep a close eye on the welfare of the participating dogs. Today, the race continues with a 45 mile course along the Mirror Lake Scenic Byway before proceeding to Lyman/Mountain View for stage stop festivities. Currently, Bud Streeper maintains the lead with a cumulative time of 16:38:35; AaronPeck is second with 17:07:37; and Aaron Burmeister from Nenana, Alaska, is third with 17:19:10.

  • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
