Slow Growth At Red Rock Fire

The Red Rock Fire that has been burning in the nearby Gros Ventre Wilderness for a little over a week now, showed only limited growth over the weekend due to cloud cover and late afternoon showers.  That fire is now 6,912 acres and remains south of the Gros Ventre Road in the Goosewing  and Tee Pee Creek areas.  Lightning Saturday ignited three small fires in Grand Teton National Park and several new fires in Bridger Teton National Forest.  One of the three park fires was immediately suppressed while the two others have only involved a tenth of an acre or less.  Meanwhile, four new fires were sparked on the forest and two were put into full suppression while the options for management of the other two – one of which is in the Teton Wilderness – are still being weighed.
