Ethernet

The State of Wyoming and CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) have reached an agreement the will bring Ethernet broadband access to two-thirds of Wyoming’s students at their schools by the end of this year. This is a significant increase from the current 27% of Wyoming’s 88-thousand students now connected to Ethernet speeds. Among the cities to benefit from this agreement are Laramie, Rawlins, Rock Springs, Jackson, Riverton, Lander, Cody, Douglas, Gillette, Buffalo and Sheridan, Glenrock and Green River.  Wyoming Governor Matt Mead calls connectivity “the great equlizer in a rural state.”  Century Link Vice President for Business, Government and Educational Services Jeff Waters says education is integral to developing productive and prosperous communities and this technology helps bring the world into Wyoming classrooms.

Light to moderate snow shower activity will also be increasing […]
