Missing Hiker Found
A 65-year-old hiker from Jackson was the subject of a brief, but successful search in Grand Teton National Park yesterday. Park Spokesperson Jenny Anzelmo-Sarles says Carl Oksanen had set out with his wife on a backpack trip beginning last Wednesday , but she returned early allowing him to finish the trip alone. When he failed to return as planned Monday, she reported him missing. Anzelmo-Sarles says the park had ramped up a pretty sizable effort including helicopter support due to the forecast deterioration of weather, but Oksanen was found before many of the search teams were deployed. Oksanen was in good condition and it was not immediately known what caused the delay in his return.
