Special Olympics To Jackson

More than 370 Special Olympics Wyoming athletes, coaches and partners from all over the Cowboy State will converge on Jackson Hole tomorrow for this year’s Winter Games competition.  Teams competing in this year’s games hail from Cody, Dubois, Douglas, Lander, Powell, Gillette, Newcastle, Sheridan, Casper, Star Valley, Washakie County, Sublette County, Crook County and Teton County.  With the addition of new Dubois and Powell athletes to this year’s competition, this marks the largest athlete participation the Wyoming Winter Games has seen in more than 10 years. Athletes will compete in alpine skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding and cross country skiing.  All competition events are held at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Teton Village. Events start Tuesday at 7:00 pm with Opening Ceremonies at Jackson Hole High School.
