War Hero Rescued
A Colorado Springs, Colorado man remains in intensive care at an Idaho Falls hospital after a snowmobiling accident in Teton County, Idaho Friday. 78-year-old Roy McClendon had been snowmobiling in the Horseshoe/Packsaddle Loop area and was seriously injured when his snow machine struck a tree. McClendon was evacuated from the scene at about 4:43 pm by members of the Teton County Idaho EMS and transported by a litter pulled behind a snowmobile to a landing zone in the Horseshoe parking lot. From there, he was taken to Eastern Idaho Medical Center where he remains hospitalized. McClendon complained of head and neck pain resulting from the accident. McClendon is a two time Purple Heart recipient from Viet Nam.
