Flu Season Hits
Two Wyomingites have already died as the result of this year’s flu season. While not much has been heard about flu season so far this year, the Wyoming Department of Health says there has been a significant increase in influenza reports in just the last couple weeks. Health officials say there the two flu-related deaths in Wyoming were in Uinta County and in Fremont County — both elderly residents. Dr. Tracy Murphy says flu vaccines are still available in many locations and require several days before they become effective after they have been administered. Flu season in Wyoming usually runs several weeks, so health officials say inoculation is still a viable option.
