Prepare for Winter Driving

prepare

The Wyoming Department of Transportation is urging residents to prepare for the winter driving conditions have arrived now.  If motorists should become stranded in their cars, they and those with them would need survival supplies.  WYDOT also points out that severe winter weather can also strand residents in their own homes, so it is a good idea to keep some extra supplies around during the winter season.  According to information WYDOT has posted this week, items to have in both a vehicle and at home would be non-perishable food items, medical supplies, cellular phone charger, and emergency heating supplies.  WYDOT also recommends travelers should let someone know when they are leaving, what their stops along the way may be and a time line when they plan to arrive.  When traveling in Wyoming, if motorists encounter or are involved in an emergency situation, they may dial pound (#) HELP on their cell phones or call 1-800-442-9090.
