Hunter Success High in Paradise
Despite relatively warm and windy conditions during the last week of the general season, big game harvest numbers were up at game-check stations around southwestern Montana – with particular success seen in Paradise Valley. Hunters who checked in at the Livingston station reported almost 27 percent success rate with a high total of 53 elk taken compared to 24 in the previous week. White-tailed deer harvest appeared to pick up, while mule deer harvest saw a modest drop. Montana’s big game hunting seasons ended Sunday.
