Wyoming “Best Run State”
The online news outlet 24/7 Wall Street has voted Wyoming as the best run state in the country for the second year in a row. The Cowboy State received high ratings in several areas including the best high school graduation rate in the country. According to 24/7 Wall Street, 92.3 percent of Wyoming residents age 25 or older have high school diplomas. The Equality State also has the fourth lowest rate of violent crimes and Wyoming is the sixth lowest in unemployment. Of course, 24/7 Wall Street did not fail to mention another statistic that may affect the state’s favorable ratings: Wyoming has the smallest population in the country. Ranked the worst run state in the U.S. is California, which has the second-lowest percentage of adults with a high school diploma, the second highest foreclosure rate in the country, and the second highest unemployment rate, next to Nevada.
