TC Students Benefit From Fed. Grant
Teton County was one of only five school districts in Wyoming awarded the School Improvement Grant, which is designated for districts and schools that have either a high percentage or high number of low-income students. Districts were only allowed to apply for the grant – which will award $400,000 to schools in Teton County – if its schools required improvement in a number of areas including, reading and math scores and secondary school graduation rates. State Superintendent Cindy Hill said funds from the grant are designed to assist low-performing schools facing special challenges. Other school districts awarded the School Improvement Grant include Laramie, Big Horn, Lincoln and Fremont County School Districts.
