Unemployment Increases
Wyoming’s unemployment rate crept up slightly last month, although it remains well below the national average. According to the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services, the unemployment rate grew by.4% in November to a total of 5.8%. Once again, Teton County eclipsed all of the state’s other 22 counties with a jobless rate of 11.8% in November. Unemployment usually rises in Teton County each November as the summer tourist season has ended and the ski season has not yet begun. Still, the November 2011 figure is below the 12.2% rate seen in November of 2010. Meanwhile, Sublette County retained the bright spot in the state last month with a 3.1% rate of unemployment.
