A Winter Storm Developing

nws_logo

Here comes the snow – maybe.  The National Weather Service Monday afternoon issued a winter storm watch for northwestern Wyoming with a possible accumulation in the town of Jackson totaling between four to eight inches by Thursday, and one to two feet in the mountains.  Forecasters say snowfall is expected to increase Wednesday as a moist favorable flow off the Pacific Ocean reaches Western Wyoming, and snow is expected to persist through much of Thursday. However, the heaviest snowfall is expected Wednesday night. Additionally, forecasters say, the snowfall will likely be accompanied by gusty winds causing travel to be significantly hampered over Teton Pass, through the Snake River Canyon and across the open areas of Grand Teton National Park. Jackson Hole Radio will continue to track the development of this storm.
