Closure Of Teton Pass Planned

pass_closed

The Wyoming Department of Transportation has scheduled a closure of Teton Pass for Thursday, December 29th, at 3:00 am for avalanche control. Due to an exceptionally weak snowpack and the expected severe winter storm with strong winds and heavy snow, the highway could remain closed through the morning. Snow slides that reach the highway may prolong the closure, and deteriorating weather conditions may force an earlier closure. No overnight parking will be permitted at the summit of Teton Pass and will be strictly enforced. Highway travelers and backcountry users are advised to plan accordingly for the closure.
