IPSSSDR Junior Draws Young Sledders
The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is coming and there are a lot of western Wyoming students excitedly looking forward to it. That’s because select students, aged 9 to 13, from schools throughout Wyoming and Utah will be participating in a sled dog race of their own, in conjunction with the race. The IPSSSDR Jr. Stage Stop is scheduled for Saturday, February 4th in Park City, Utah, after the final stage of the IPSSSDR. Participating students volunteer in their communities to earn the right to compete in the kids’ race. Those students agree to perform ten hours of community service work prior to the race and raise $25 for the nonprofit Uinta County Community Youth Coalition. Two students will represent each of the host communities in the short exhibition run. This year’s IPSSSDR steps off from the Jackson town square in a ceremonial start January 27th.
