YNP Annual Visitation Second Best

YNP Entrance (Small)

Yellowstone National Park visitation for recreation during 2011 posted a 7% decline from the number of people visiting the park in 2010 according to the National Park Service Public Use Statistics Office.  The monthly report for December indicates 5% fewer people recreating in the park during the month than during the same month a year ago, and 1% fewer people overall when counting those entering the park for non-recreational purposes.  The Year’s total of nearly 3.4-million recreational visitors is still the second highest annual visitation just behind last year’s 3.6-million total.  Visitation statistics for neighboring Grand Teton National Park were not immediately available.
