Get Ready To Race
The annual International Stage Stop Sled Dog Race steps off from the Jackson town square Friday evening. Race officials have released the schedule for the ceremonial start for what will be a nine-day race taking 22 sled-dog teams through nine western Wyoming towns before finishing in Park City, Utah. Publicist Darla Worden says activities for the public begin at 5:00 pm on the Jackson town square with music, booths and a movie leading up to the send-off for the teams. Then, Worden says the public can take a free shuttle from the square to the foot of Snow King Mountain for the musher’s reception party, a torchlight parade down the ski hill, and a fireworks display at the foot of the mountain. Worden urges spectators to park in the town parking garage near the post office, and take advantage of the shuttle between the square and the mountain since parking at the foot of Snow King will be at a premium.
