With the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race over for another year, race officials have awarded the Old Stager Award to Stan and Cheri Rogers of Powell along with their two children, for their annual work on the sled dog race.  The Old Stager Award honors a musher or an individual who has made a long-term commitment to the race. Stan and Cheri have been the official race timers for the past 13 years. Trace Organizer Frank Teasley says the Rogers role–often causing them to wait in inclement weather for the teams to cross the finish line in remote location for hours at a time—is considered essential to the race. A framed photograph by Jackson Photographer Chris Havener was presented to the Rogers as this year’s Old Stager Award.

But you’d be wrong. The last total lunar eclipse visible in Wyoming was way back in 2009, if I’m not mistaken. So I’ve been looking […]

U.S. Senator Mike Enzi opened his official campaign headquarters in Cheyenne on Wednesday. Wyoming’s senior senator is seeking his fourth term in the Senate. • Back to normal at the trap range - April 17, 2014
By some strange luck, I shot really well last week in our trap league. But last night, I didn’t do so well. Not even close. The thing about shooting trap is that you’re bound to have good rounds once in a while. Those good nights give you hope that you’re improving. For some people, that […]
