Caribou-Targhee Seeks YCC Applicants

The Palisades Ranger District of the Caribou-Targhee National Forest is taking applications for this summer’s Youth Conservation Corps Program .  Four positions will be offered there this year. Spokesman Lynn Ballard says applicants must be at least 17 years old the day they are hired and cannot have turned 19 years old until the day after they are terminated from employment.  Enrollees will work 40 hours per week for 8 weeks at $8.00 per hour.  Jobs will be located in the Swan Valley, Idaho area.  The participants will reside at their homes and commute daily to the specified work centers.  However, some of the trail jobs will require overnight camping at remote work locations.  Jobs will include noxious weed control, trail maintenance & construction and back country trail rider assistant.  Applications should be submitted to the Palisades Ranger District office by March 30th.
