Winter Season Ending in YNP
While it may seem difficult to believe considering the late start of winter weather and its persistence this week, the winter season in Yellowstone National park began closing down yesterday. Commercially-guided snowmobile and snowcoach travel between Fishing Bridge and the park’s East Entrance over Sylvan pass concluded last night. Correspondingly, says Spokesman Al Nash, park lodging, restaurants and gift shops will be closing over the next two weeks. Once the roads close to oversnow travel, crews will begin to clear them of snow so they can reopen to automobile travel in the spring, beginning April 20th, weather permitting.
