Prescribed Fire In Paradise
Gallatin National Forest fire and fuels managers are carrying out plans to complete multiple prescribed burns this spring dependent upon proper conditions. The burns range from 45 – 200 acres. Among them is a burn located on the Gardiner Ranger District, approximately 13 miles north of Gardiner in Cutler Meadows. Burning Cutler Meadows is part of a project utilizing fire to restore native plant communities to acquired lands in the Gardiner Basin. Ashley Sites, Gallatin National Forest East Zone Fire Management Officer says the month of March generally marks the beginning of spring burning season. Fire personnel also plan to burn several small slash piles around the Forest in the Paradise Valley area.
