Control Burn At Palisades Reservoir

The Palisades Ranger District plans to implement a prescribed burn at Sheep Creek sometime between March 20th and May 15th, pending favorable conditions.   This prescribed burn is to be just north of Palisades Reservoir. Forest officials explain that predicting the actual day of a prescribed fire is difficult due to weather and fuel conditions. Therefore,   orange highway signs will be posted in the vicinity of the prescribed burns as well as Forest Service roads and trails on the actual day of ignition to inform residents & visitors of the activity.
