Unemployment Down Slightly
While Wyoming’s unemployment continued to decline in January, Teton County continues to be numbered among the counties with moderate to high jobless rates. During January 7.1% of the county’s workforce was idled compared with 5.5% statewide. Still, that is significantly below the national jobless rate of 8.3%. Sublette County again leads the state in employment with a jobless rate of only 3.4%. The highest unemployment was found in Lincoln County with 9.1%. Altogether, the state Department of Workforce Services says 3300 more residents statewide returned to work over the past year.
