GTNP Park Road Open To Bikes
As the ski opportunities dwindle, other activities begin to present themselves around Jackson Hole. Beginning this weekend, the Teton Park Road will be available for those wishing to bike, skate or walk the road from the Taggert Lake parking lot to Signal Mountain. Still, Park Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs says, they need to be careful as the ice has not completely melted off in all areas. Skaggs says if you aren’t into biking or inline skating, there are still opportunities for winter recreation as well. Sufficient snow still exists for cross country skiing and snow-shoeing alongside the road or on the various park trails. Skaggs reminds those heading into the park that food and water are not available north of Moose yet, so people need to carry their own water and snacks. Meanwhile, some vault toilets are open now along the way. Furthermore, Skaggs says weather can be very changeable now, so people need to be ready to quickly deal with whatever the day deals out.
