Land Sale Bill Stalled
Enabling legislation for the sale of land by Wyoming inside Grand Teton National Park to the federal government is among 19 Republican-backed bills in the US House that have stalled. Those bills would designate new wilderness, conserve wetlands and fight invasive species in 14 states – including Wyoming. A group called Republicans for Environmental Protection is concerned that the bills are taking a back seat to other priorities in Congress. The group’s vice president Jim DiPeso says they have asked House Speaker John Boehner to see that they are acted upon. The Federal Land Transfer Facilitation Act by Wyoming Representative Cynthia Lummis which seeks to enable the land sale inside Grand Teton National Park is included on the groups list for action.
