Roads Open In Yellowstone
Roads into Yellowstone National Park from the north and west entrances to the Old Faithful Area are reopening to automobile travel for the season beginning Friday morning. While the park is still experiencing early spring conditions, including continuing snowfall, Park Spokesman Al Nash says the opening will take place as planned at 8:00 am. Due to the snow present in the park’s interior, walking on trails including those along the Canyon Rim or on boardwalks through thermal areas may still be difficult or impossible at this time. Meanwhile, Nash says roads connecting the South, East and Northeast Entrances are not to open until May. Nash says facilities and services are still limited early in the season and will gradually expand as the weather improves and visitation picks up. Daily road conditions are available by calling 344-2117.
