Wolf Euthanized

With one of the two wolves frequenting the Indian Trails Subdivision in Jackson gone now, it is hoped the second wolf will leave the area on its own.  Wyoming’s US Fish and Wildlife Service Wolf Coordinator Mike Jimenez says the white female seen in numerous on-line videos was trapped and euthanized last week.  Jimenez says game officials located areas where they could trap the wolf.  They then tranquilized it and euthanized it.  Now, says Jimenez, it is believed the other wolf, a black female, leave the area.  He says officials will monitor the second wolf to assure it moves away.  If it continues to hang around the subdivision he says the wildlife managers will then determine how to deal with it.  However, Jimenez says hopefully the action will resolve the problem and will lead to the wolves being in places where it is more appropriate.
