Deer Mortality Low
While the deer mortality rate on Southwestern Wyoming’s winter ranges will not be conducted until early next month, Wyoming Game and Fish officials don’t anticipate the mortality figures will be very high. Game and Fish Spokesman Mark Gocke saysso far, spring surveys indicate the mortality rate of fawns is about 19% — well below the annual mortality rate of 30%. Gocke says Game and Fish officials are inviting members of the public to help with the deer survey on May 5th. Those interested simply need to meet at the Pinedale Game and Fish office at 9:00 am on that day.
