Bills Down To The Wire
Wyoming has had a certain amount of success attracting movie producers to the state with a film industries financial incentives package which is due to sunset this year. Representative Ruth Ann Petroff says there is a move this session to continue that measure and capitalize on its success. That bill needs to see two more readings to make it into the Senate by the end of the day. Another bill that passed its second reading yesterday is a bill proposed by Representative Jim Roscoe to retrofit state vehicles to run on natural gas as bi-fuel vehicles. Petroff points out that natural gas powered vehicles cost about half of what gasoline-powered vehicles cost to operate, and they operate much cleaner than gasoline-powered vehicles. Furthermore, Petroff says it is a forward-looking measure that could ultimately help reduce our dependence on foreign oil since natural gas is so readily available in Wyoming.
