Parking Adjacent Town Square Restricted
Visitors to downtown Jackson will now find that parking along the Broadway side of the town square is restricted between now and Sunday. Jackson Police explain that the intent of prohibiting parking along this block is to reduce potential conflicts. Wednesday, a large trailer and a large truck were parked in the three-hour zone, blocking out the view of large graphic displays erected there b y the protesters from Operation Save America. Meanwhile, calls have been fielded by both law enforcement personnel as well as administrative staff of the Town relating to the demonstrators. The main focus of the calls relate to the graphic images on the signs, as well as the location and positioning of signs and protestors. The protests are scheduled to continue in the community through Sunday and counter activities are expected to continue throughout the same time period.
