Yellowstone Weekend Uncertain
All Yellowstone National Park entrances are open for the season now, and the road over Dunraven Pass linking Canyon Village and Tower Fall along with the Beartooth Highway northeast of the park are scheduled to open for the season this morning. However, Park Spokesman Al Nash says don’t count too heavily on that. Nash says snow has already led to temporary closures of roads in the park and forecasts call for weather that could continue such challenges to road maintenance through the Memorial Holiday weekend. Before setting out, Nash urges travelers to check current road conditions at 307-344-2117 – and keep their plans flexible. Nash says most seasonal visitor services are open in time for the Memorial Day weekend although a few services won’t open until June. Saturday also marks the opening of fishing season in the park.
