Weekend Wind Reeks Havoc

wind

With a temporary roof in place, it’s back to business as usual for Snake River Anglers in the Dornan’s complex after wind tore a section of the roof from their building.  Trisha Dornan says being a holiday weekend; the hasty repairs were pretty make-shift.  There were reports of two people who suffered minor injuries in the incident.  The same storm system, roaring through the area between 1:30 and 2:00 pm Saturday, sparked a small wildland fire near Mormon Row when high wind snapped a power line.  The live wire started the fire in the dry grass left over from last season, and Park Spokesperson Jackie Skaggs says a Lower Valley Energy line crew already in the area knocked down the fire with a fire extinguisher.  She says a Teton Interagency crew also responded to make sure the fire was out cold.  Altogether, the fire involved only 2/10 of an acre.
