Chamber Director Search Begins
Plans to begin a search for a new director for Jackson Hole’s Chamber of Commerce are being put into place after Tim O’Donoghue last week announced his intention to retire from that position. Chamber President Kevin Olson says the first step will be for the search committee to review the job profile as it now stands and make adjustments to it to reflect what they want in a future chamber leader. Olson says the chamber has begun looking at a two-pronged focus: a local focus with membership and referrals and visitor services, and as an evolving tourism bureau in a national market. Olson says once the search begins, it will involve both local and national efforts. He says there could be qualified applicants in the local area, but they will advertise nationally to field the best applicants for the job. Olson says while there is no firm date for the request for applicants to be posted, it is hoped that the vacancy can be published sometime after the middle of the month.
