GTNP Visitation Solid In May
The National Park Service Public Use Statistics Office has now posted the visitation statistics for Grand Teton National Park. While figures from last month are contrasted with May of 2011, national park officials point out that the new system of counting is not compatible with the malfunctioning system that was in place last year. However, neighboring Yellowstone had posted a 27½% increase in visitation last month through the south entrance. Statistically, Grand Teton last month counted 167,848 recreational visitors through its entrance stations, and 269,383 people altogether including those entering the park on business.
