Tourism Grants Considered
The Joint Jackson Hole Travel and Tourism Board today is determining which of the applicants for grants will receive funding for their tourism events. Grant requests must be for events that bring new money into the community during the shoulder seasons with amounts being rewarded ranging from $1,000 to $20,000. However, other requests for funds came from the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce and the Elk Refuge Visitor Center for their visitor services. Last year the board awarded more than $150,000 in grants to 22 events in the valley, turning down nearly two dozen other proposals. Today’s meeting takes place at 2:00 pm.
