Michigan Visitor To Park Dies In Auto Collision
A 59-year-old Michigan man has died and his wife was hospitalized after a head-on collision with another vehicle in Grand Teton National Park yesterday. Park officials say John Grace of Rochester Hills, Michigan died of injuries he sustained when the sedan he was driving collided with an older model pick-up truck near Oxbow Bend about 12:30 pm. His wife Sigrid, the only occupant in the car with him, was also injured and transported to St. John’s Medical Center in Jackson where she was treated and released. Neither the driver nor the passenger in the pick-up was injured. The wreck caused the closure of Highway 89/287 for 5½ hours. Details of the accident are still under investigation by both park rangers and members of the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
