An attack on a security guard in the employee housing area near Jackson Lake Lodge apparently never took place as the security guard reported. According to park officials, Christopher Dascoli’s injuries were real enough – suffering a head injury – but a probe into the affair by park rangers and National Park Service special agents led them to conclude he had made up the story about being attacked. A park news release says Dascoli is now being charged with filing a false report and providing false information to law enforcement. The guard had said he was responding to a loud party when he was attacked. A park spokesperson says it is unknown how Dascoli suffered his injuries.
