Tower Road To Be Repaired

June 19, 2012 Greater Yellowstone, State of Wyoming No Comments
YNP Construction

Anyone who has driven the road from Tower Junction to Tower Falls in Yellowstone National Park – and for that matter up over Dunraven Pass – is well aware of the poor condition of the road there.  Yellowstone road crews plan to begin work reconstructing and widening the first 2½ miles of that road next month requiring the nightly closure of the road between 11:00 pm and 7:00 am and causing up to 30 minute delays during the open hours.  At the same time, the parking area at Canyon Village is also to be reconstructed.  Park officials say that project is not expected to significantly impact visitors to Canyon village.  Both projects are expected to be completed by October, 2013.
