Former Yellowstone Ranger Falls To Death
The tragic death of a climbing ranger last week during a rescue in Mount Rainier National Park has touched colleagues in Yellowstone National Park where he had worked as an avalanche forecaster in the Lake District this past winter season. 34-year-old Nick Hall fell 3,700 feet to his death Thursday as he was involved in efforts to rescue four injured climbers who fell on a glacier on 14,411 foot Mount Rainier. Those four climbers from Waco, Texas had fallen into a crevasse as they were descending a glacier on the mountain and Hall was preparing some of the victims for helicopter when he lost his footing and fell to his death. All four climbing victims were ultimately rescued and hospitalized.
