Consolidation Through Committee
Representative Ruth Ann Petroff’s bill to allow town and county voters to decide whether to consolidate their local governments was passed out of a Senate committee yesterday and is now headed to the Senate floor to be heard by the Committee of the Whole. The Senate Corporations Committee approved the measure 4-1 Petroff says the first reading in the Senate is likely to take place next week.
