Wyoming Travel Info On i-phones

i-phone

The Wyoming Office of Tourism recently launched a mobile version of its website, wyomingtourism.org.  Travel Commission Director Diane Shober explains that this makes information from the website accessible now from any web-enabled phone or smartphone as visitors to the state areon the road.  Shober says consumers these days are very used to using smart phones or i-phones for immediate information.  She says other state tourism offices are finding that the volume of visits to their mobile sites can be at times greater than those to their desktop sites.  The mobile information, like the desktop access, provides tips on what to do, where to stay, or what events are taking place.  Shober says the mobile site is optimized for functionality and does not require software or application downloads – it is automatically detected from a mobile device.  Meanwhile, Shober says so far this summer, tourism is looking pretty solid.  Anecdotally, she says there are a lot of visitors traveling throughout the state and she is very pleased with the reports that are coming in this season.
