Construction To Resume At Hospital
During a special meeting yesterday, the St. John’s Hospital Board approved guaranteed maximum pricing quotes presented for the expansion project at the medical center that has been idled for the past several months due to cost over-runs. According to a statement from the medical center following the meeting, the quotes specify $19.7-million dollars for the expansion and nearly $6-million for the central energy plant. Collectively, that’s nearly a million dollars more than what was originally planned. Additionally, the board approved $291-thousand dollars in additional renovations and quality upgrades. The general contractor for the project, JE Dunn will now begin notifying the subcontractors so that construction can now be resumed on the hospital addition.
