June 2nd Best For YNP Visitation

Totals from the National Park Service Statistics Office indicate recreational visitation to Yellowstone National Park last month was up by 6 1/3% from 2010 while overall visitation increased by slightly less.  According to the monthly report, 674,497 passed through the entrances to recreate in the nation’s first park – 20-thousand fewer than during June 2010 which was the park’s record June.  147,673 of the visitors entered through the south entrance by way of Grand Teton National Park.  Altogether, the report indicates that Yellowstone is nearly 10½% higher in visitation this year than in 2011.
