Fontenelle Fire 68% Contained

thank you

Firefighters say they now have the Fontenelle Fire near Big Piney 68% contained as more humid conditions and afternoon showers continue to moderate the fire behavior.  Gas and oil production and helium plant construction resumed yesterday after being idled for more than a week.  Fire officials say the fire continues to creep and smolder through surface fuels in the heavy down component in the south and east divisions. Interior torching of trees, both single and group, continues in the northern and western portions of the fire.  There are still 709 people working the fire with the focus currently on the west flank of the fire.  The fire is estimated to have involved over 64-thousand acres.
