Local Wildfires Remain Quiet
The Fontenelle Fire on the Bridger Teton National Forest is now 87% contained after having involved about 100 square miles of forest and sage there. Crews working the fire have been reduced to 202 individuals. Complete containment is anticipated in another week. Cause of the fire is still under investigation. Meanwhile, the Bear Cub fire in the Teton Wilderness has expanded slightly to 6350 acres but due to its isolation and natural boundaries, it remains in monitor status. Fire danger throughout the region remains “very high.”
