More Wildfires Spark In Region
Teton Interagency Firefighters have responded to another new fire over the weekend – this one about a mile east of Kozy Campground in Hoback Canyon on the Bridger Teton National Forest. The fire is the result of a lightning storm that passed through the area July 11th and was discovered during an aerial reconnaissance flight Sunday afternoon. Eight firefighters are currently working to suppress the fire. Meanwhile, a quarter-acre fire near Cygnet Pond in Grand Teton National Park was discovered and controlled on Friday. Currently, firefighters from Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico and an engine from Glacier National Park in Montana are in the Tetons to enhance the Park’s fire readiness during the continuing drought conditions.
