No More Extensions At Glenwood & Gill

Barron

Jackson Town Council Monday evening decided to “pull the plug” on the McCabe Corner project, rather than giving another extension of the building permit there.  Mayor Mark Barron says while the original plan had appeared to be a good plan, with the current economic situation council believes it is virtually “undevelopable” as a 100% residential project.  Still, he says he is optimistic that First Interstate Bank which holds the paper on the property will be able to quickly move forward to resolve abandoned project there. Barron says it has been rumored that there may be investors interested in the property and he is hopeful that the land will be purchased soon and a palatable plan will be proposed so that the town can leave the vacant hole in the past.  With that in mind, he says he doubts that the town will have to resort to cashing the bond on the property to put the site back in order.
