Bear Moved To Teton County
Teton County has another new resident thanks to the efforts of the Wyoming Game and Fish Department. A sub-adult female grizzly bear was trapped in the Sunlight Basin area northwest of Cody Saturday and moved to the Arizona Creek drainage of the Bridger Teton National Forest north of Jackson. Game and Fish officials say the bear had been frequenting ranch areas apparently in search of easy food. The release site is approximately four miles south of Yellowstone National Park and in currently occupied grizzly bear habitat. Game and Fish officials continue to stress the importance of keeping all bear attractants including horse and livestock feed, pet food, and garbage unavailable to bears.
